A fifth grade girl came up to me in class today and said:
“Ms. Mimi, I’m glad you’re here.”
“Why thank you, M, that’s very kind of you.”
“But I don’t think it will make much difference,” she said looking over at a group of boys chatting amongst themselves and making way too much noise.
“They’ll come around soon enough. I’m making a few changes tomorrow.”
“No, if you were more attractive, they just be looking at your butt and making nasty comments. It’s a good thing you the way you are.”
Ouch!
Hahaha! This aging fifth grade teacher can relate! I once had a child ask me if I thought I’d be dead before her kindergarten aged brother got to fifth grade.
